Overdentures

Bright Dental Surgery, St Johns, Woking

Overdentures are dentures that fit over a few remaining natural teeth or dental implants, offering more stability and comfort than traditional dentures.

If you are missing several teeth or even all of them, you have probably considered dentures. But did you know there is a more secure and comfortable option? Overdentures might be just what you’re looking for.

What Exactly are Overdentures?

An overdenture is like a regular denture but with a big difference. It is designed to fit over a few remaining natural teeth or implants. These teeth or implants act as anchors, giving the over-denture extra stability. That means less slipping and sliding and more confidence when eating, talking, or laughing.

Why Choose an Overdenture?

Overdentures can offer the best of both worlds as they are more secure than traditional dentures, thanks to the support from your natural teeth or implants. Plus, they can help preserve the remaining bone in your jaw, which can shrink over time when you lose teeth. Overdentures are also more comfortable because they are custom-made to fit your mouth perfectly.

What’s the Process Like?

Getting an overdenture usually involves a few steps. If you have remaining teeth that are healthy enough, they will be prepared to support the overdenture. In some cases, implants might be placed instead. After that, impressions of your mouth are taken, and your overdenture is custom-made to fit securely and comfortably. Once it’s ready, we’ll ensure it fits just right, and you’ll leave with a smile you can feel good about.

Is an Overdenture Right for You?

Overdentures are not suited for everyone, but they are worth considering if you want a more secure and comfortable alternative to traditional dentures. We’re here to help you determine the best option for your situation.

What Our Patients Are Saying

Your Smile, Our Success

Our highest priority is our patients' satisfaction. We take pride in the trust our patients place in us, and nothing speaks louder than their words.

I am very happy with this dentist. I moved to this dentist after a bad experience at my old one, which always made me feel comfortable and at ease. I moved out of the area but will still use this dentist and can’t recommend it enough.

Excellent Dentist practice, always able to get an appointment quickly. Reception staff was very pleasant and helpful. Mr. Ojo gets on with examinations and treatment quickly and painlessly, with no ambiguity, knows his stuff and gets the job done. I have been visiting this dentist practice for many years in Woking and now at their new premises in St. John’s. Would highly recommend!

Sadly, I am a nervous patient from past bad experiences, so it is very important for me to find a dentist who listens and makes me feel reassured. That’s exactly what I received in a caring way. I am also extremely impressed with the hygienist, who does an excellent job and leaves me with a gleaming smile. The Receptionists, Charlotte and Gemma, are both efficient and delightful.

Dr Mundakapadam has been a wonderful dentist for my two daughters (and myself). He has been patient and always explains exactly what he is doing, reassuring them. He is gentle and works quickly to avoid keeping them in the chair for long periods when fillings are required. I appreciate his care and professionalism and will continue to frequent BDS for our checkups.

Amazing dental practice! I’m a very nervous patient, but I must say all the staff are great, so much so that I am returning for the third time next month! I highly recommend this practice to anyone who suffers from dental phobias or those who don’t! Thank you to you all, and not forgetting the receptionists!

I came today for my appointment and was completely and utterly scared as I have a phobia of dentists. Today changed my experience for the better. I was welcomed so nice and calmed down very quickly and easily thank you to my dentists amar. I generally could not be happier thank you again

I can’t thank Dr Schibin and the whole team enough. My very nervous daughter was in for a tooth extraction. She was made to feel immediately calm and has now said that she likes going to the dentist and has no fear of returning. There was no judgment from the dentist, and everything was explained. The reception team were fantastic from the booking through to greet us.

During my initial consultation, Amar devised a comprehensive treatment plan tailored to my needs. I am very grateful for Amar’s expertise, professionalism, and genuine compassion.
